CoLabJax and The Bunker open Jacksonville Landing location, home for a new technology, innovation and arts hub in downtown Jacksonville; Launch on August 7th.

CoLabJax, a MakerSpace, STEM education hub and business accelerator, and The Bunker, a Veterans business incubator, are banding

together with The Art Center Cooperative to better serve Jacksonville entrepreneurs from their new space at The Jacksonville Landing.

The Landing's long-term future is currently being decided, but the startup community of Jacksonville won't wait. CoLabJax and The Bunker, along with The Art Center Cooperative and other organizations promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics,) the arts and entrepreneurship, visualize The Landing and Hemming Park, along with the stretch of Laura Street connecting them, as the core of the urban startup ecosystem rapidly growing in Jacksonville.  We are engineering  a transformation of the Landing to a hub of cultural and technological innovation with a vibrant and diverse community of makers, doers, and mentors. Startup ecosystems are growing in cities all over the country and the world, and provide the impetus for positive business innovation and growth; with this endeavor we aim to focus  this energy into a new hub of innovation to Jacksonville. The Jacksonville startup community is vibrant and varied, but disconnected. We aim to connect all entrepreneurs, startups, and makers both established AND aspiring, into a focused group, with the resources to grow and succeed.

Entrepreneurs and Makers can see for themselves what CoLabJax MakerSpace, The Art Center Cooperative and The Bunker are all about beginning July 20. A soft launch is planned for August 5, during and in support of Art Walk. The Grand Opening, with activities on Laura Street and in and around The Landing, is scheduled for August 7th  from  4pm - 8 pm
