Downtown Vision is dedicated to serving our stakeholders, making Downtown cleaner, safer, friendlier and easier to get around, and bringing more people Downtown.  Our major programs and projects include the following:

Downtown Stakeholder Support - Report An Issue

Downtown Vision provides support as needed to Downtown stakeholders and responds to hundreds of requests for advocacy, information and problem resolution assistance. Downtown Vision has also implemented an electronic Report an Issue system, allowing for real-time reporting and the ability to follow through on the issue until resolution.  For more information on this system, visit Report an Issue.

Downtown Ambassadors

Our Downtown Ambassadors are paid and trained staff that serve as an extra set of eyes and ears to make Downtown more comfortable and friendly.  Ready to give directions, answer questions, provide assistance, or walk you to your destination, the Downtown Ambassadors are Jacksonville's Downtown hospitality team. 

The Ambassadors also provide clean and safe services.  The Ambassadors pressure wash and spot clean sidewalks, remove graffiti, pick up litter, and keep the streets clean.  Additionally, the Ambassadors have routine reporting channels with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.  Easily recognized by their orange polo shirts and pith helmets, the Downtown Ambassadors patrol the Downtown Improvement District seven days a week.

Parking and Transportation Services

Downtown Vision provides information about parking and public transportation while coordinating with the city and other organizations to develop efficient access into and within Downtown for visitors, residents and employees.

Advocacy

Downtown Vision is a voice for Downtown stakeholders on issues of importance to the future of Downtown Jacksonville.  In 2010, Downtown Vision released an advocacy position paper entitled Turning the Corner: Rethinking and Remaking Downtown, which outlines eight tenants needed to move Downtown forward. Downtown Action Plan
