Downtown Developments

Since 2000, 60 projects totaling more than $1.2 billion in investment have been completed, with an additional 30 projects totaling $1.2 billion proposed or under construction.

Major streetscape improvement projects, including Riverside Avenue, Bay Street and Main Street, were completed and are examples of ongoing beautification efforts taking place throughout Downtown.

In 2010, $28.6 million in projects were completed, including Baptist Medical Center Surgery Expansion and two office renovations. 

Ongoing Downtown revitalization and rehabilitation efforts will continue. Near term efforts to improve the Downtown environment will have a stronger focus on horizontal development, streetscape improvements and enhancement of the pedestrian environment.
